Editor

Pierre features a modern, rich text editor that allows you to write, format, and collaborate with others on your content. It’s available on branches and drafts alike, and most of the functionality is also available within comments. The editor is powered by ProseMirror and TipTap, open source projects for building real-time and rich-text editors on the web.

• Rich text formatting — Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, code, and more.
• Lists — Ordered, unordered, and task lists.
• Type — Headings, blockquotes, code blocks, tables, and more.
• Links — Insert and edit links.
• Media — Drag and drop images and videos.
• Embeds — Embed any iframe content from other websites, including Figma, YouTube, Twitter, and more. Also includes custom embeds for Linear.
• Slash commands — Use / to quickly insert elements like headings, lists, and more.
• Multiplayer — Real-time collaboration with others on the same branch or draft.

Formatting toolbar

As an editor, select any string of text to bring up the contextual formatting toolbar. It includes options for bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, code, and more.

You can also use keyboard shortcuts to format text.

Bottom toolbar

At the bottom of your browser window, you’ll find the bottom toolbar. The bottom toolbar serves two functions:

• Editor formatting options
• Review actions: comments and approvals, plus approve and merge actions

The review actions toolbar is always visible, while the editor formatting options are only visible when you’re focused on the editor.
